Rumpshaker 2012

Saturday was the annual Rumpshaker 5K that we do in honor of my aunt, Marianne.

This year was so much fun!  This was also mine and Clay's first year with a stroller, and we quickly found that you definitely can't weave in and out of the crowds as quickly or easily as you can without a stroller.  Overall- it was a great morning for a run to raise money and awareness about Colon Cancer.

My cousin, Mary Alice, came in Friday night with her little boy, Jack.  Once they got on the floor and got playing they had so much fun!

 First glimpse of each other.

George needed to get a little closer to see his new friend.

Then the daycare survival skills kicked in for both of them as they went straight for the other one's face.

In the end, they were friends.

We got up bright and early Saturday morning for the race!

This picture is classic Saty.  This is the poster we've used in each of the Rumpshaker races we've done.  My mom was tired of it falling apart, so she got it laminated.  She was also tired of having to hold the poster, so she punched two holes and tied a string through it and wore it around her neck.  Classic.

Some of the over 3,500 participants.

George and me post-race!  Sorry for the red face...looks like I'll be finding my way to a treadmill more often.
(Clay pinned his race number on George and it was a big hit with the other people in the race)

The whole crew after the race.

Then we got to run in to some fun friends!

and Great Aunt Gina was there too!

We all went to grab brunch afterwards and we had a lot of tired babies on our hands.

Marianne, we missed you on Saturday, but we do this for you!  Thank you for the way you inspire us in everything that you do.  Your life is a testament that a positive attitude (and a few pictures) can cure anything.  I will be forever thankful for the impact you have on my life.
